CAT domain zone
Overview
CAT is an international top-level domain for the development of the Catalan language and culture.
Recommendations
Registration in CAT domain zone is recommended for organizations and individuals, who intend or already participate in promotion of the Catalan culture and language.
Limitations
You have a right to register a domain in CAT domain zone, if you comply with at least one of the following requirements:
- You already have your own Internet resources dedicated to the Catalan culture or language (websites, blogs, mailing lists etc.). If so, you are required to specify a link to your online resources.
- You perform activities in the Internet (in any language) in order to facilitate the development of the Catalan language and culture. If so, you are required to specify your activities in detail with all relevant links to online resources.
- If you are a member of the Catalan culture development society in the Internet and if you are able to provide e-mails from three persons, which already own their domains in CAT domain zone.
Registration term
Usually, a domain is available for use within 7-14 days upon payment and obtaining of all required confirmations of your right to register a domain in CAT zone.
Maximal registration term for this domain zone is 30 days.
Transfer
Transfer of domains in CAT zone for service from another registrar with domain renewal for one more year is possible.
Prior to domain transfer request, obtain an Authorization Code from your current registrar. Usually, a domain is transferred for service to a new registrar in 5-7 days upon start of domain transfer process.
If an incorrect e-mail address is specified in WHOIS, ask your current registrar to correct your e-mail address specified in your domain details prior to your domain transfer request. In some cases, requests to confirm your intention to transfer your domain to a new registrar may be sent to your e-mail specified in WHOIS. If such e-mails are not confirmed, your domain transfer request will be declined.
